OUR ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITMENT AND MANDATE
The 21st century scientific age is one fraught with ambivalent challenges and heightened expectations. Hence, the need to aspire and pursue higher values; in order to be able to withstand its complexities and challenges. Like Mahatma Ghandhi, we believe that "life is an aspiration, and its mission is to strive after perfection, which is self-realization".
In order to achieve fully this self-realization, the C.IC Management chose to hide under the protective guidance of the heavens. We believe that with God on our side our collective dream of a better future shall be realized. To drive this message home, we placed emphasis on spiritual, moral and academic formation.
i. Spiritual Formation: A number of structures have been put in place, to encourage our boys to develop an enduring affinity with God. Many of our student intercessors from JSI to Ss3 undergo training. Among other things, they meet and pray for the C. l.C community.
The refectory is orderly structured in such a way that bible reading goes simultaneously with sharing of food. Every Thursday is a day of interaction between the priests and the Students. On such days all the priests pray with the students and join them also in the refectory. It gives the priests the opportunity to taste the food and observe the quantity. There is also a monthly adoration/prayer.
ii. Moral Formation: To enthrone an effective moral training, we have some hostel parents for all the hostels. These young graduates live in the hostels with the students, eat with them and supervise them daily.
iii. Academic Formation: Our vision and promise is to produce reliable scholars of the 21st century. Our students have continued to gain scholarship into prestigious universities, home and abroad. Graduates from C.IC are always able to defend themselves in any academic environment. Hence, we have some well-structured academic programs for the students. We have also increased the days for morning preps to five, with hostel parents helping us to guide the boys at such times. And to the glory of God, the early morning prep is very effective.
We request parents to be patient and partner with us in the training of these boys. This partnership is of immense importance in the formation process. For nothing destroys the cognitive psychology of a child like what the psychologists call "Double Signal". Be assured that we have the goodwill, the discipline and the commitment to get the best out of your child.
Keep praying for us, and together we shall all see and reap the fruits of these training going on now.
